What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the criteria for approving suppliers are not currently available for franchisees to review. However, if a franchisee wishes to use an unapproved supplier, they must submit a written request for approval, or the supplier can submit their own request. Degree Wellness may then inspect the supplier's facilities and require product samples for testing, either directly or through an independent certified laboratory.
Degree Wellness may also require the franchisee or the proposed supplier to pay an evaluation fee to cover the costs of the inspection and testing. The FDD states that this fee will not exceed the actual cost of the inspection and the actual cost of the test. Degree Wellness will then approve or disapprove the proposed supplier within 60 days of receiving all required information.
Degree Wellness retains the right to periodically re-inspect approved suppliers and revoke approval if they no longer meet the company's criteria. While the specific criteria are not disclosed to franchisees, this process ensures that Degree Wellness maintains control over the quality and standards of products and services used within its franchise system. This is a fairly common practice in franchising, as franchisors often maintain strict control over their supply chain to ensure consistency and quality across all locations.
