What is a condition that must be met before the Degree Wellness Business Training takes place?

According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must execute a lease for the Franchised Business before the business-related portion of the Initial Training (Business Training) takes place. However, Degree Wellness retains the right to delay the Business Training until the franchisee completes all pre-initial training items outlined in the manuals.

The Initial Training consists of business-related training and technical service-related training. This training is required for the franchisee (if an individual), the Principal Owners (if a legal entity), and the General Manager (if any). Degree Wellness must be satisfied with the completion of this initial training program by these individuals.

The Business Training will occur at a location and time designated by Degree Wellness. Up to two individuals may attend the Business Training without additional charge. If the Principal Owner is not the General Manager, both must attend. If the General Manager is also the Principal Owner, one other employee may attend without charge. Additional individuals may be permitted to attend, subject to space availability and tuition payment. The franchisee is responsible for all costs associated with the Business Training, including tuition, registration, salary, travel, lodging, and dining costs for participating employees.

The Initial Training includes classroom, online self-directed instruction, and in-studio Franchise operation training. The business-related training program is typically held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but Degree Wellness reserves the right to designate another training facility. In-studio training is completed at the franchisee's studio location. If Degree Wellness determines that any General Manager or employee cannot satisfactorily complete the training, the franchisee must not hire that person and must enroll a substitute within 15 days.
