What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Degree Wellness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the operating principles cover advertising, attracting, and retaining customers. This is referenced within Section C of the manual, which also includes topics such as franchise systems and franchisee operations, site selection, training in operational systems, necessary equipment, approved suppliers, required service offerings, technology stack, reports and reporting, royalty, tax reports, franchisor's support, periodic visits and support, and sample compliance audits.
Specifically, Degree Wellness requires franchisees to invest at least $12,000 on presale marketing to promote their studio before opening. Degree Wellness will assist in creating a marketing and promotional strategy, including suggestions around scheduling relative to the soft opening. In addition to contributions to the brand fund and the technology fee, each Degree Wellness studio must spend a minimum of $2,500 per month for local advertising, promotion, and marketing.
Degree Wellness retains significant control over advertising and marketing efforts. Franchisees must submit all advertising and promotional materials not already prepared or approved by Degree Wellness for written approval. The franchisor has 15 days to approve or disapprove the submitted materials. Franchisees also irrevocably consent to the use of their name, likeness, voice, and image for all commercial purposes, including advertising and promotion, in any media worldwide.
