Are NBF Contributions to Decorating Den Interiors refundable?

We invoice the NBF Contribution throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement, and you will pay DDSI as stated in Section 7.1b of the Franchise Agreement. The monthly minimum NBF Contribution begins on the first day of the second full month following completion of DDIU or you complete your first sale, whichever comes first.
We may change the minimum monthly NBF Fee once a year based on the increase in the CPI during the preceding year.
At the end of each month, we reconcile your National Brand Fund (NBF) payments with your monthly Gross Sales. If your NBF payments during a calendar month are less than the monthly NBF minimum, we will charge the balance in the month-end invoice. You must pay us NBF payments by automatic electronic payment from your bank. NBF Contributions are non-refundable.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Decorating Den Interiors' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, National Brand Fund (NBF) contributions are non-refundable. The NBF contribution is paid throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement. The monthly minimum NBF contribution starts on the first day of the second full month after completing Decorating Den Interiors University (DDIU) or after the franchisee completes their first sale, whichever comes first.
Decorating Den Interiors may adjust the minimum monthly NBF fee once a year based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) during the preceding year. At the end of each month, Decorating Den Interiors reconciles the franchisee's NBF payments with their monthly Gross Sales. If the NBF payments during a calendar month are less than the monthly NBF minimum, Decorating Den Interiors will charge the balance in the month-end invoice.
The NBF contribution ranges from 1% to 4% of Gross Sales, or a $100/month minimum, due on the 15th and last day of the month. The NBF fee is 4% of annual gross sales between $0 and $200,000, 3% for sales between $200,000.01 and $300,000, and 1% for sales over $300,000. Decorating Den Interiors may change or eliminate the NBF Fee Reduction Program at any time after providing 30 days' notice.
