What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crowne Plaza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is solely responsible for researching and complying with all applicable health and sanitation laws, rules, and orders from any government authority. This includes understanding and adhering to state and local regulations and statutes governing the lodging business and related services. These regulations often require licensing of lodging businesses to ensure compliance with health and sanitation codes.
These health-related laws can impact various aspects of the Crowne Plaza hotel's operations, such as the use of linens, towels, glassware, and food preparation and service. It is crucial for prospective franchisees to understand the extent of these regulations and the costs associated with compliance, as these can vary significantly depending on the location of the franchise.
While the franchisee is responsible for compliance, Holiday reserves the right to make adjustments to its services to protect health and safety. These adjustments may include suspending in-person gatherings like training, meetings, and conferences, and conducting such events virtually. Therefore, franchisees must stay informed about any changes or adjustments made by Holiday to ensure continued compliance and operational effectiveness.
