According to the 2025 Crowne Plaza FDD, the principal trade and/or service mark associated with the Crowne Plaza franchise is "Crowne Plaza®". This mark is a core element of the Brand System that franchisees are licensed to use.
Crowne Plaza franchisees must adhere to IHG's standards for using the "Crowne Plaza®" mark and other associated intellectual property. They are also obligated to notify IHG immediately of any infringements or challenges to the use of the mark. IHG maintains exclusive control over disputes involving the "Crowne Plaza®" mark and the broader Brand System.
As a franchisee, you acknowledge IHG's exclusive ownership of the "Crowne Plaza®" mark and agree not to contest its validity. All goodwill associated with the use of the mark accrues to the benefit of IHG. Upon termination of the franchise agreement, no monetary value will be assigned to any goodwill associated with the franchisee's use of the "Crowne Plaza®" mark.
