What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Crowne Plaza Franchise Disclosure Document, fees are generally due to IHG by the 15th day of the following month. However, if the 15th falls on a weekend or bank holiday, the due date is shifted to the next business day. There are exceptions to this general rule, as the Technology Services Fee and the Crowne Plaza Hotel Marketing Association Fee are payable monthly in advance.
Crowne Plaza may require franchisees to pay all outstanding fees via electronic funds transfer, direct account debit, ACH, or similar technology. If this is the case, the franchisee must maintain sufficient funds in a segregated bank account specifically for covering these fees.
If a franchisee fails to make payments when due, this constitutes a breach of the license agreement. In addition to the breach, unpaid amounts will accrue interest beginning on the first day of the month following the due date. The interest rate is 1½% per month, or the maximum interest permitted by applicable law, whichever is less.
