Submit "Preliminary Plans" to IHG, for IHG's review and approval, before starting construction and in no event later than the Preliminary Plans Due Date set forth in Attachment "A" or such other date as IHG may agree with Licensee in writing. "Preliminary Plans" means site plans, building floor plans (all floor levels), enlarged guest room plans for all room types and exterior elevations with a color rendering as prepared by a qualified, licensed architect with knowledge of commercial building design and construction, including spatial relationships, and general quality of building systems, elements, products and materials, as is necessary to describe adequately the design of the Hotel.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Crowne Plaza FDD, as a new development franchisee, you must submit the Preliminary Plans to IHG for review and approval before starting construction. The latest date for submission is the Preliminary Plans Due Date, as outlined in Attachment A, or another date that Crowne Plaza and the franchisee agree to in writing.

The Preliminary Plans should include site plans, building floor plans for all levels, enlarged guest room plans for all room types, and exterior elevations with color renderings. These plans must be prepared by a qualified, licensed architect who has knowledge of commercial building design and construction. The architect should demonstrate an understanding of spatial relationships and the general quality of building systems, elements, products, and materials to adequately describe the design of the Crowne Plaza hotel.

Prospective franchisees should carefully review Attachment A of the Franchise Agreement to determine the specific Preliminary Plans Due Date. If the franchisee anticipates needing more time, they should discuss the possibility of an extension with Crowne Plaza and obtain any agreement in writing to avoid potential delays or breaches of the agreement.
