What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 FDD, Crowne Plaza franchisees will be charged authorization fees for each attempt to authorize a transaction. Capture fees are charged for each transaction transmitted for settlement. If the authorization and capture are submitted as a single transaction, the franchisee will be billed a combined fee. However, if submitted separately, each will be charged individually.
The franchisee is responsible for using software or services that correctly submit transactions to achieve the combined billing. This implies that franchisees need to ensure their systems are properly configured to avoid incurring separate fees for authorization and capture when a combined fee is intended.
In addition to authorization and capture fees, Crowne Plaza franchisees may also incur other third-party based fees, which include interchange fees, chargebacks, dues and assessments, access fees, and debit network fees. These fees may be adjusted by Card Organizations or other Third Parties during the term of the agreement, and the franchisee is responsible for paying these adjustments as specified in notices.
