What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Crowne Plaza FDD, any changes to the brand's standards will be communicated to the licensee in writing at least 30 days before the changes take effect. This communication can be in hard copy or, at Crowne Plaza's discretion, in digital, electronic, or other computerized form. If the communication is digital, the franchisee is responsible for any costs associated with retrieving, reviewing, using, or accessing it.
Before any changes are implemented, Crowne Plaza's designated internal franchise committee or subcommittee must approve them. This committee must determine, using its business judgment, that the change is adopted in good faith and aligns with the long-term interests of the Crowne Plaza brand system. This decision is made after seeking advice from the appropriate committee of the IHG Owners Association.
This process ensures that franchisees have advance notice of changes to standards, allowing them time to prepare and adjust their operations accordingly. It also provides a mechanism for franchisee input through the IHG Owners Association, though the final decision rests with Crowne Plaza's internal committee. The franchisee bears the responsibility for staying informed and covering any costs associated with accessing digital communications regarding these changes.
