What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Crowne Plaza FDD, the NGP (Next-Gen Payments) transaction fee billed to a Crowne Plaza hotel by Fiserv is $0.06 per transaction. This fee is collected by Fiserv, the merchant service provider, as part of the settlement reconciliation process for most transactions.
This transaction fee applies to each online authorization request, captured request without online authorization, return request, and void request. It's important to note that IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) reserves the right to lower this transaction fee upon notice to the hotel, but they cannot increase it.
In addition to the transaction fee, the Crowne Plaza hotel will also pay IHG a support fee of $140 per month, which IHG may modify by no more than 10% annually upon notice to the hotel. The hotel is also responsible for any taxes resulting from the Next-Gen Payments Solution.
Prospective franchisees should consider these ongoing fees as part of their operating expenses. While the transaction fee is relatively small per transaction, it can add up depending on the volume of transactions processed by the hotel. It is also important to stay informed of any potential changes to the support fee, as IHG can adjust it annually within the specified limit.
