What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crowne Plaza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Crowne Plaza hotel must submit or report transactions to FreedomPay for settlement within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the transaction. If a hotel submits transactions after this 60-day period, FreedomPay will attempt to settle them if the data is available. However, FreedomPay bears no liability if it cannot settle these late transactions.
This requirement means that Crowne Plaza franchisees must have efficient systems in place to ensure timely submission of transaction data. Delays in submission could result in FreedomPay being unable to settle the transactions, potentially leading to a loss of revenue for the franchisee. Franchisees should prioritize accurate and prompt reporting to avoid these issues.
While FreedomPay will attempt to settle transactions submitted after the 60-day deadline, there is no guarantee of success. This places the risk of non-settlement on the Crowne Plaza hotel. Franchisees should consider this when managing their financial operations and ensure they have protocols to prevent late submissions. Utilizing FreedomPay's status alerting system program to stay informed about any system issues could also help in maintaining timely submissions.
