Answer from 2024 FDD Document

  • "Territory" means the territory stated on the Location Acceptance Letter.

  • (ii) When Crown Gold Franchising accepts the Location, it will issue a Location Acceptance Letter in the form of Attachment 2 which states the Location and Territory. What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Crown Gold Exchange's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Territory' is defined in the Location Acceptance Letter. When Crown Gold Franchising accepts a franchisee's proposed location, it will issue a Location Acceptance Letter, which states the specific Location and Territory granted to the franchisee. Crown Gold Franchising determines the Territory at its discretion, generally following the guidelines in Item 12 of the Franchise Disclosure Document.

However, if Crown Gold Franchising fails to specify the Territory in writing within 60 days after the franchisee opens their Crown Gold Exchange business to the public, the Territory will default to a defined area. In this case, the territory will include the zip code of the franchised business location and all immediately surrounding zip codes, encompassing a total population of 50,000 people.

It is important for prospective Crown Gold Exchange franchisees to understand how their territory is defined, as this dictates where they can exclusively operate and where the franchisor will not establish or license another competing business under the Crown Gold Exchange brand. The franchisee should confirm the territory details in the Location Acceptance Letter and understand the implications of the default territory definition if a specific territory is not defined in writing within the specified timeframe.
