What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Crown Gold Exchange's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to System Standards related to software. This includes protecting the confidentiality and security of all software systems. Franchisees are also required to grant Crown Gold Franchising unlimited access to their point-of-sale system and other software systems used in the business, through any means designated by Crown Gold Franchising.

Crown Gold Exchange franchisees are obligated to acquire and use all software and related systems that the franchisor requires. This encompasses entering into any subscription and support agreements mandated by Crown Gold Franchising. Furthermore, franchisees must upgrade, update, or replace any software as directed by Crown Gold Franchising from time to time.

The System Standards encompass the mandatory procedures, requirements, and standards determined by Crown Gold Franchising, which include standards for technology such as computers, software, point-of-sale systems, back-office systems, information management systems, security systems, payment acceptance systems, and internet access, including any upgrades, supplements, and modifications. This gives Crown Gold Exchange broad authority to dictate the technology used in the franchise operations.

For a prospective franchisee, this means they must be prepared to invest in and maintain the specific software systems that Crown Gold Exchange mandates. They must also stay current with updates and upgrades, and allow the franchisor access to their systems. Failing to comply with these technology standards could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
