Is it required that the transferee of a Crisp & Green franchise complete the initial training program?

According to Crisp & Green's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the transferee (or its operating partner) and its managers must complete the initial training program to the franchisor's satisfaction.

This requirement ensures that the new ownership and management team are well-versed in the Crisp & Green system, operational standards, and brand values. By mandating initial training, Crisp & Green aims to maintain consistency and quality across all franchise locations, which is crucial for protecting the brand's reputation and customer experience.

The FDD also stipulates that the transferee must meet other conditions to be approved, such as providing requested information, demonstrating good character and sufficient business experience and financial resources. They must also agree to be bound by the current standard form of the franchise agreement with a term of ten years, unless Crisp & Green waives this requirement. Additionally, a transfer fee equal to the current initial franchise fee ($64,500, or $10,000 if the transferee is an existing franchisee) must be paid before the transferee begins business activities.
