What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Crisp & Green's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, all data provided by the franchisee from their Computer System, along with other information collected, is exclusively owned by Crisp & Green. Crisp & Green has the right to use this data in any manner they deem appropriate without providing any compensation to the franchisee.

Crisp & Green requires franchisees to provide unimpeded online access to their Computer System, allowing Crisp & Green independent access to the information generated and stored within the systems. Franchisees must also provide access to a web-based video or camera feed of the Franchised Restaurant. This level of access and data ownership is fairly common in franchise systems, as it allows the franchisor to monitor performance, ensure compliance, and leverage data for marketing and operational improvements across the entire brand.

This policy has significant implications for a prospective Crisp & Green franchisee. It means that Crisp & Green can utilize sales data, customer information, and other operational data collected by the franchisee's computer systems for its own purposes, such as market analysis or developing new products, without sharing profits or providing any direct benefit to the franchisee. Franchisees should consider the value of the data they will be providing and how it might contribute to the franchisor's overall business strategy. Franchisees should also ensure they understand the franchisor's data privacy policies and how customer data will be handled.
