The initial franchise fee is payable in full when the Franchise Agreement is signed and is considered fully earned and nonrefundable upon payment. Except as otherwise described in this Item 5, the initial franchise fee is the same for all franchisees. What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Crisp & Green's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee of $64,500 grants franchisees the right to operate a restaurant using the Crisp & Green "System". The System encompasses various elements, including the brand's trademarks, restaurant design, layout, equipment, recipes, and operational standards. This fee is payable in full upon signing the Franchise Agreement and is nonrefundable, signifying that it is compensation for the franchise rights and access to the System, not contingent on the restaurant's future success.

The System, as defined in the FDD, is a comprehensive package that Crisp & Green provides to its franchisees. It includes everything from the physical design of the restaurant to the methods of inventory control and marketing strategies. The initial franchise fee essentially buys the franchisee's entry into this established system, allowing them to leverage Crisp & Green's brand recognition and operational expertise.

Item 5 specifies that the initial franchise fee is generally uniform for all franchisees, although Crisp & Green retains the right to offer discounts at its discretion. This fee structure is typical in franchising, where the initial fee serves as payment for the franchisor's intellectual property, training, and support necessary to start the business. For prospective franchisees, understanding the scope of the System and how the initial fee grants access to it is crucial in evaluating the value and potential return on investment of the franchise opportunity.
