What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crisp & Green's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the brand considers knowledge of operating results and financial performance of other restaurants (excluding the franchisee's own) to be confidential information. This means that as a franchisee, you would not be entitled to access or share specific financial data from other Crisp & Green locations, as this information is proprietary to the franchisor.
This policy is typical in franchising, as it protects sensitive business data that could provide a competitive advantage if disclosed. Crisp & Green franchisees are expected to maintain the confidentiality of this information, which includes data related to sales, costs, and profitability of other locations. This restriction aims to prevent the dissemination of potentially valuable insights to competitors or misuse of the data.
For a prospective franchisee, this underscores the importance of relying on the financial performance representations provided in Item 19 of the FDD and conducting thorough due diligence. While you won't have access to the detailed financials of other individual locations, the franchisor should provide sufficient aggregate data to evaluate the potential profitability of a Crisp & Green franchise. It is important to ask the franchisor about the type of financial data they provide and how it can be used to assess the viability of the franchise opportunity.
