What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crisp & Green's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, an Approved Operator is prohibited from engaging in other business activities that demand significant management responsibilities or time commitments, or that otherwise interfere with their role. This restriction applies whether the activity is direct or indirect. The Approved Operator must dedicate their full-time efforts to the development and operations of multiple Crisp & Green locations.
This requirement ensures that the Approved Operator is fully dedicated to managing and supervising the General Managers of the Crisp & Green franchise locations, meeting development deadlines, and maintaining uniform and efficient operations across all locations. The franchisor wants to ensure that the operator is not distracted by outside interests that could negatively impact the performance of the franchise.
This is a fairly standard requirement in the franchise industry, particularly for multi-unit operators. Franchisors want to ensure that their franchisees, especially those overseeing multiple locations, are fully committed to the brand and its operations. Prospective Crisp & Green franchisees should carefully consider this requirement and ensure they are prepared to dedicate their full-time efforts to the business.
