What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Crepe De Licious Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee seeking to transfer their franchise must pay a transfer fee. The total transfer fee is $10,000, but if the proposed transferee is an existing Crepe De Licious franchisee, the transfer fee is reduced to $5,000.
Included within this transfer fee is a non-refundable deposit of $1,000. This deposit is due when the franchisee or proposed transferee requests approval for the transfer from Crepe De Licious. Because the deposit is non-refundable, the franchisee will not receive this money back, regardless of whether the transfer is ultimately approved or denied.
This deposit covers Crepe De Licious's initial costs of reviewing the transfer request and the proposed transferee's qualifications. The remaining balance of the transfer fee would likely be due upon final approval of the transfer. Franchisees should be aware of this upfront cost when considering a transfer.
