What expenses are the Crepe De Licious franchisee responsible for when attending a conference?

We may require you or your Designated Manager to attend each conference and we may charge you for these programs.
You shall pay us a convention fee for each year that an annual convention is held ("Convention Fee") for purposes of defraying Franchisee's cost of attending such annual conferences regardless of whether or not you attend the annual convention.
If you fail to attend an annual conference for any reason, we shall be entitled to use the Convention Fee paid by you for any purpose in our sole discretion.
Once paid, the Convention Fee is non-refundable for any reason.
We may preclude you from attending an annual convention/national conference if you are in default of this Agreement at the time of the annual convention/national conference or if you have had two notices of default within 12 months prior to any annual convention/national conference.
We may also preclude you from participating in system calls, meetings or webinars while you are in default of this Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Crepe De Licious Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for a convention fee each year that an annual conference is held, regardless of whether they attend the annual convention. This fee is used to defray the franchisee's cost of attending the annual conference. The convention fee is non-refundable once paid, regardless of the reason for non-attendance.
Crepe De Licious may require franchisees or their designated manager to attend each conference and may charge for these programs. If a franchisee fails to attend an annual conference for any reason, Crepe De Licious is entitled to use the convention fee paid by the franchisee for any purpose at their discretion.
Crepe De Licious may prevent a franchisee from attending an annual convention/national conference if the franchisee is in default of the Franchise Agreement at the time of the annual convention/national conference or if they have had two notices of default within 12 months prior to any annual convention/national conference. Crepe De Licious may also preclude franchisees from participating in system calls, meetings, or webinars while they are in default of the Agreement.
