What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crepe De Licious's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are obligated to upgrade or replace their computer systems whenever Crepe De Licious revises the system specifications. This means that if Crepe De Licious modifies the required components or standards for the computer system, franchisees must adapt their own systems to comply. The FDD places no limitations on how frequently Crepe De Licious may revise these specifications or how much these upgrades may cost the franchisee.
Crepe De Licious franchisees are responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upgrading of their computer systems, including how these systems interface with Crepe De Licious's systems and those of third parties. Franchisees also bear the consequences if their computer systems are not properly maintained and upgraded. Crepe De Licious, or its designee, has the right to access electronic information and data related to the franchisee's business and use this data in any manner, including to promote the system and the sale of franchises.
Franchisees must obtain their computer systems, software licenses, maintenance, support, and related services from suppliers specified by Crepe De Licious, which may include Crepe De Licious itself or its affiliates. These modifications may require franchisees to purchase, lease, or license new or modified computer hardware and software, as well as obtain the necessary service and support. The estimated annual cost for maintenance, updates, or support contracts is $500, but this amount can vary depending on the specific update or contract. Franchisees have 60 days after receiving notice from Crepe De Licious to obtain the designated components and ensure their computer system is functioning correctly with the modifications. Crepe De Licious is not obligated to reimburse franchisees for any of these computer system costs.
