What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Creative World School's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must submit Construction Plans and specifications to Creative World School for approval before starting construction. This submission must occur within 120 days of the date Creative World School approved the franchisee's site. The franchisee may also be required to submit revised or "as built" plans and specifications during construction, if requested by Creative World School. Creative World School will then approve or disapprove the Construction Plans within 60 days of receiving the complete Construction Plans. The date of approval is termed the "Construction Approval Date."
In practical terms, this means a prospective Creative World School franchisee needs to act quickly once their site is approved. They have approximately four months to prepare and submit detailed construction plans that meet Creative World School's standards, local ordinances, building codes, permit requirements, and lease restrictions. This process likely involves hiring architects and engineers, which adds to the initial investment. Franchisees should factor in this timeline and the associated costs when planning their school development.
It's important to note that the Construction Plans cannot be altered without Creative World School's prior approval once they are approved. This underscores the importance of thorough planning and communication with Creative World School throughout the construction phase. Any delays in submitting or getting approval for the Construction Plans could potentially impact the overall timeline for opening the school, as the franchisee must open the school for business within 12 months of the Construction Approval Date.
