What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Creative World School Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor, Creative World Schools Franchising Company, Inc., retains ownership of the System, which includes any improvements, developments, or modifications made to it. The System encompasses a wide array of elements, such as the distinctive environment, service marks, trade names, business formats, methods, procedures, designs, layouts, signs, equipment, curricula, lesson plans, educational programs, trade dress, standards, and specifications.

This means that while a franchisee may contribute to the evolution of the Creative World School system through innovations or enhancements, the legal ownership of those improvements remains with the franchisor. This is a common arrangement in franchising, allowing the franchisor to maintain consistency and control over the brand and operating standards across all franchise locations.

For a prospective Creative World School franchisee, this implies that any successful innovations they develop for their location would need to be shared with the franchisor, and the franchisor would have the right to implement those changes across the entire franchise system. While franchisees may not directly benefit from a financial perspective from these improvements, a well-maintained and updated system can improve the brand as a whole, which can indirectly benefit all franchisees. Franchisees should discuss with the franchisor how they are recognized or compensated for contributions to the System.
