What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee who wishes to renew their franchise must provide Cream with written notice of their election to acquire a successor franchise within a specific timeframe. This notice must be given no more than 270 days and no less than 180 days before the current franchise agreement expires. This timeframe is crucial for franchisees to adhere to if they wish to continue operating their Cream shop under a renewal agreement.
Missing this deadline could result in Cream not being obligated to grant a renewal franchise. The Cream franchise agreement outlines several other conditions that must be met to qualify for renewal, including compliance with the agreement terms, maintaining possession of the premises, agreeing to remodel the shop if required, paying the renewal fee, and signing the then-current franchise agreement.
It is important for prospective Cream franchisees to understand these renewal terms and conditions, as they can significantly impact the long-term viability and operation of their franchise. Franchisees should mark these dates on their calendar and consult with Cream well in advance of the deadline to ensure they meet all requirements for renewal.
