What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must maintain their shop to meet the highest standards of professionalism, cleanliness, sanitation, efficiency, courteous service, and pleasant ambiance. This includes maintaining the condition and appearance of the shop, premises, equipment, signage, furniture, fixtures, and other operating assets. Franchisees are responsible for the costs associated with these maintenance requirements.
To meet these standards, Cream franchisees must undertake actions such as cleaning, repainting, and redecorating the interior and exterior of the premises. They are also responsible for interior and exterior repairs, as well as repairing or replacing damaged, worn-out, or obsolete equipment, signage, furniture, fixtures, and other operating assets. These actions must be performed at intervals prescribed by Cream, or as needed if no specific interval is provided.
Cream may periodically require franchisees to renovate, refurbish, remodel, or replace real and personal property and equipment used in operating the shop. Franchisees may also be required to make additional or material improvements to the shop when reasonably required by Cream to comply with their System Standards. While Cream acknowledges that complete and detailed uniformity may not always be possible or practical, they reserve the right to vary System Standards for any franchise owner based on conditions they consider important for successful operation or preserving goodwill. However, Cream is not obligated to authorize similar variations or accommodations to other franchise owners.
