Does Cream specify if the on-site opening support schedule will be before or after the Opening Date?
Cream Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
If you are developing your first Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop, in addition to providing your Mandatory Trainees the Initial Training Program, we will send one or more of our representatives to your Shop to assist you with your Shop's grand opening for 5 days at no additional cost to you. We will determine the identity and quantity of the representative(s) we send to your Shop and the schedule for all such on-site opening support in our discretion (which may be before and/or after your Opening Date). If we determine that you need more than 5 days of opening support to bring your Shop into compliance with System Standards, and/or you request more than 5 days of opening support and we agree to provide it, you must pay our then-current fee for such additional assistance. If we determine that you need on-site opening support for your second or subsequent Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop to satisfy the System Standards, and/or you request and we agree to provide any such on-site support for your second or subsequent Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop, you must pay our then-current additional training fee, plus reimburse the out-of-pocket costs and expenses we incur in sending our trainer(s) to your Shop, including travel, food, accommodations, and living expenses.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the on-site opening support schedule may occur either before or after the Opening Date. For franchisees developing their first Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop, Cream will provide a representative for 5 days to assist with the grand opening at no additional cost. However, Cream retains the discretion to determine the schedule for this support.
Cream specifies that the schedule for on-site opening support can be before and/or after the Opening Date. This flexibility allows Cream to tailor the support to the specific needs of the franchisee and the shop.
If Cream determines that more than 5 days of opening support are needed to meet System Standards, or if the franchisee requests additional support and Cream agrees, the franchisee must pay Cream's then-current fee for the extra assistance. For subsequent Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop openings, franchisees must pay an additional training fee and reimburse Cream's out-of-pocket expenses for sending trainers to the shop.
