What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for covering all expenses associated with training courses and programs. This includes costs incurred by the franchisee, their Mandatory Trainees, and any other personnel.
The expenses that the franchisee must pay encompass a broad range of items. Specifically, the franchisee is responsible for wages, transportation costs to and from the training location, the cost of food and lodging during the training period, and workers' compensation insurance for their personnel while they are attending the training. This applies to the Initial Training Program as well as any ongoing training courses or programs that Cream provides throughout the term of the franchise agreement.
This requirement places a significant financial burden on the franchisee, as training costs can accumulate quickly, especially when multiple employees are involved or when travel and accommodation are necessary. Franchisees should factor these expenses into their initial investment and ongoing operational costs. It is common in the franchise industry for franchisees to bear the costs of training their employees, but the specific expenses covered can vary, so it is important to understand these obligations fully.
