What is the required transfer fee for a Cream franchise?

According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee who is transferring their franchise agreement or shop is generally required to pay a transfer fee of $25,000 to Cream. This fee must be paid before the transfer can be completed. However, there are some exceptions to this rule.

For example, if a Cream franchisee transfers the agreement to a wholly-owned entity, they may not have to pay the transfer fee, provided they reimburse Cream for any direct costs incurred during the transfer, such as legal fees. Also, in the event of the death of an owner, a transfer to the surviving spouse is exempt from the transfer fee, provided that the transfer otherwise adheres to the conditions outlined in Section 4 of the franchise agreement.
