What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, each Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop is required to have a separate Shopkeeper. A Shopkeeper is someone approved by Cream to supervise the management of the shop if the owner or Principal Owner does not wish to manage the shop's day-to-day operations.

Cream retains the right to establish conditions for approving a Shopkeeper, including requiring the completion of training, ensuring the Shopkeeper has no competitive business interests, and/or mandating the execution of a non-disclosure agreement. During any period in which a Shopkeeper is not approved, the owner or Principal Owner must supervise the daily operations.

Regardless of whether the owner manages the shop or a Shopkeeper is in place, the shop must always be under the direct, on-site supervision of at least one person approved by Cream who has completed the Initial Training Program. This ensures that Cream's standards are maintained at each location.
