What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must maintain their shop and premises, including all equipment, signage, furniture, fixtures, and other operating assets, to meet the highest standards of professionalism, cleanliness, sanitation, efficiency, courteous service, and pleasant ambiance. This encompasses both the interior and exterior of the premises. Franchisees are responsible for the costs associated with maintaining these standards.

Specifically, franchisees are required to undertake cleaning, repainting, and redecorating of both the interior and exterior of the premises. They must also handle interior and exterior repairs. Furthermore, franchisees are obligated to repair or replace any damaged, worn-out, or obsolete equipment, signage, furniture, fixtures, and other operating assets. These repairs and replacements should occur at intervals prescribed by Cream, or as needed if no specific interval is provided.

Cream retains the right to periodically require franchisees to renovate, refurbish, remodel, or replace the real and personal property and equipment used in operating the shop. Franchisees may also be required to make additional improvements to the shop when reasonably required by Cream to comply with System Standards. These requirements ensure that all Cream locations maintain a consistent brand image and operational quality, but also represent a potentially significant ongoing investment for the franchisee.
