According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the receipt requires specific information from prospective franchisees, whether they are individuals or business entities. For individual franchisees, the receipt requires that they print their name and date the receipt. Cream franchisees must return the signed and dated receipt to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams Franchise, LLC, either by mail or email, to the address franchise@jenis.com.

Cream provides this disclosure document to potential franchisees at least 14 calendar days before they sign a binding agreement or make any payment to Cream or its affiliates. Certain states, such as Iowa, Michigan and New York, have specific regulations regarding the timing of providing the disclosure document, which Cream must also follow.

The disclosure document includes several exhibits, such as the Franchise Agreement, Area Development Agreement, Representations Statement, Sample General Release, List of Franchisees, List of Former Franchisees, Financial Statements, State Addenda and Agreement Riders, and Receipts. Cream summarizes the provisions of the Franchise Agreement and other information in plain language in the disclosure document. If Cream does not deliver the Disclosure Document on time or if it contains a false or misleading statement, or a material omission, a violation of federal and state law may have occurred and should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission, Washington, D.C. 20580 and the appropriate state agency on Exhibit A.
