What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must ensure their employees, including Shopkeepers, are appropriately trained according to the Franchise Agreement and System Standards. Cream may set minimum requirements for employee training programs, potentially requiring Mandatory Trainees or other personnel to complete a nationally recognized health certification course. If a franchisee hires new Shopkeepers, Cream may require these individuals to complete an approved training program before they start providing services.
If Cream does not approve a franchisee to offer training to Shopkeepers, or if the franchisee is not in compliance with Cream's System Standards, Cream may require the Shopkeepers to complete Cream's then-current Initial Training Program. The franchisee will be responsible for Cream's then-current training fee for the Initial Training Program, which is currently $1,000 per attendee, plus Cream's costs and expenses.
The franchisee is responsible for covering all costs and expenses for themselves and their personnel for any training provided by Cream, including wages, transportation, food, lodging, and workers' compensation insurance during meetings, training courses, and programs, including the Initial Training Program. This means that if Cream does not approve a franchisee's training program, the franchisee will incur the cost of Cream's training program for their Shopkeepers, in addition to the Shopkeepers' related expenses.
