What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, as of December 31, 2024, Cream did not have any franchised outlets operating. The financial performance data presented in Item 19 of the FDD is based on 83 corporate-owned Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shops that operated for the entirety of the 2024 calendar year.
Because Cream did not have any franchised locations operating during the 2024 calendar year, the FDD does not include any financial performance representations for franchised outlets. Instead, the FDD provides detailed financial information for its corporate-owned stores, broken down into quartiles based on annual Net Profit. This data includes figures for Net Sales, COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), Gross Profit, Direct Labor, Occupancy costs, Supplies, Credit Card Fees, Partnership Fees, Repairs and Maintenance, Other Costs, Total Operating Expenses, and Net Profit.
Prospective franchisees should be aware that the financial performance of corporate-owned stores may not be indicative of the potential performance of a franchised location. Factors such as location, management experience, and local market conditions can significantly impact a franchise's financial results. Cream indicates that if you are purchasing an existing outlet, they may provide you with the actual records of that outlet.
Given the absence of franchised outlet data, it is crucial for potential Cream franchisees to conduct their own thorough due diligence. This includes carefully reviewing the financial performance data provided for corporate-owned stores, researching local market conditions, and developing a detailed business plan with realistic financial projections. Speaking with current Cream franchisees (if any become available) would also provide valuable insights into the potential challenges and opportunities of operating a Cream franchise.
