What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the opening date of a Cream shop is influenced by several factors. Cream estimates that a shop will begin operating within eight months after the lease is executed or by the first anniversary of signing the Franchise Agreement. Failure to meet these deadlines may result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement.

Specifically, the opening date depends on when the franchisee obtains Cream's approval of the premises, construction plans, and lease. It also hinges on securing all necessary permits and licenses, constructing the shop according to approved plans and system standards, and obtaining and installing all required fixtures, equipment, signage, and décor. Furthermore, the franchisee must obtain all pre-opening inventory and supplies, satisfy Cream's training requirements for themselves and their shopkeeper, obtain all required insurance policies, and fulfill all other pre-opening requirements outlined in the Franchise Agreement, ultimately receiving Cream's approval to open.

For a prospective Cream franchisee, this means that the opening date is not solely determined by their own efforts but is also contingent on approvals and processes managed by Cream and external factors like permit acquisition. Franchisees need to proactively manage these dependencies and maintain open communication with Cream to ensure a smooth and timely opening. The initial training program is based on the availability of the mandatory trainees, Cream's trainers and training facility, and the projected opening date for the shop.
