What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for covering all expenses incurred by themselves and their Mandatory Trainees during any meetings, training courses, and programs provided by Cream throughout the term of the agreement. These expenses include wages, transportation, food, lodging, and workers' compensation insurance. This applies to the Initial Training Program as well as any ongoing training programs or courses.
This means that while Cream may provide the training itself, the franchisee must budget for all associated costs for themselves and their trainees to attend. These costs can vary significantly depending on the location of the training, the duration of the training, and the number of people attending. Franchisees should consider these costs when evaluating the overall investment required to start and operate a Cream franchise.
It is common in the franchise industry for franchisees to bear the costs of travel, lodging, and wages for their employees during training. This ensures that the franchisee has a vested interest in the training and that their employees are properly compensated for their time. Franchisees should inquire about the typical duration and location of training programs to estimate these costs accurately. They should also confirm whether workers' compensation insurance covers employees during training, or if a separate policy is required.
