What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for covering all expenses incurred by themselves and their Mandatory Trainees during any meetings, training courses, and programs, including the Initial Training Program. These expenses include wages, transportation, food, lodging, and workers' compensation insurance. This means that in addition to any fees Cream may charge for the training itself, the franchisee must also budget for all logistical costs associated with attending the training.
For the initial training program, Cream provides the training at no cost for up to three attendees, including the Mandatory Trainees, for the first shop developed. However, the franchisee is still responsible for the costs of wages, transportation, food, lodging, and worker's compensation insurance for those attendees. If the franchisee requests more than three people to attend the initial training, or if the Mandatory Trainees need to attend the training program for a second or subsequent shop, Cream may charge a training fee, in addition to the aforementioned expenses.
Cream may also require Mandatory Trainees to attend ongoing training courses or certification programs. The franchisee is responsible for the conference fee (up to $1,500 per person) for each required attendee, as well as the costs of wages, transportation, food, and lodging. Additionally, if Cream determines that a franchisee is not operating their shop in compliance with the System Standards, Cream may require additional training for the Mandatory Trainees and charge an additional training fee of $500 per trainer per day, plus reimbursement of costs and expenses, on top of the franchisee's expenses for wages, transportation, food, and lodging.
