Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If we determine that you need on-site opening support for your second or subsequent Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop to satisfy the System Standards, and/or you request and we agree to provide any such on-site support for your second or subsequent Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop, you must pay our then-current additional training fee, plus reimburse the out-of-pocket costs and expenses we incur in sending our trainer(s) to your Shop, including travel, food, accommodations, and living expenses.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cream's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee requires on-site support for their second or any subsequent Jeni's Ice Creams Scoop Shop to meet the System Standards, or if they request and Cream agrees to provide such support, the franchisee is responsible for covering specific expenses.

Specifically, in addition to Cream's then-current additional training fee, the franchisee must reimburse Cream for all out-of-pocket costs and expenses incurred by Cream in sending their trainers to the Scoop Shop. These reimbursable expenses include the costs of travel, food, accommodations, and general living expenses for the trainers during their time providing on-site support.

This means that franchisees need to budget not only for the training fee itself but also for all the logistical expenses associated with having Cream's trainers on-site. These costs can vary significantly depending on the location of the Scoop Shop and the duration of the support needed, so it's important for prospective franchisees to factor these potential expenses into their financial planning.
