What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Crawlspace Medic Franchise Disclosure Document, upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, the franchisee must immediately cease operating the franchised business and cannot identify themselves as a current Crawlspace Medic owner, franchisee, or licensee. The franchisee must also immediately and permanently stop using the Crawlspace Medic marks, any imitations of the marks, designs, copyrighted material, or other intellectual property associated with the franchise. This includes refraining from using any trade name, service mark, or commercial symbol that suggests an association with Crawlspace Medic.
Specifically, the franchisee must discontinue using all signs, billboards, advertising materials, displays, stationery, forms, and any other items that display the Crawlspace Medic marks. This ensures that the franchisee no longer represents themselves as part of the Crawlspace Medic system after the agreement ends.
This requirement is standard in franchising to protect the brand's integrity and prevent confusion among customers. By enforcing these post-termination obligations, Crawlspace Medic ensures that only current franchisees in good standing can use its trademarks and represent the brand. Franchisees should be aware of these obligations and plan accordingly to avoid any potential legal issues after the franchise agreement concludes.
