What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Crawlspace Medic Franchise Disclosure Document, Social Media Platforms are defined as web-based platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok, as well as blogs and other networking and sharing sites. Crawlspace Medic franchisees need to be aware of these platforms because the FDD stipulates that using them for marketing purposes requires prior written approval from the franchisor.

This approval process extends not only to the platforms themselves but also to any Social Media Materials used on these platforms. Social Media Materials are defined as any material that uses Crawlspace Medic's trademarks, name, brand, or products, whether created by the franchisor, the franchisee, or a third party. This requirement ensures that all social media activities align with the brand's standards and marketing strategies.

It's important to note that any expenditures towards Social Media Platforms and Social Media Materials do not count towards the franchisee's required local advertising expenditures. Crawlspace Medic requires franchisees to spend a minimum amount on local advertising, but social media expenses are separate from this requirement. This distinction means franchisees must budget and manage their social media marketing efforts independently from their broader local advertising commitments, ensuring compliance with Crawlspace Medic's marketing guidelines and expenditure requirements.
