What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Crawlspace Medic Franchise Disclosure Document, the Brand Fund, which is contributed to by franchisees at a rate of one percent (1%) of weekly Gross Revenues (subject to increases with reasonable notice to two percent (2%) of weekly Gross Revenue), will generally not be used to solicit new franchise sales. However, Crawlspace Medic retains the right to include "Franchises Available" or similar language and contact information in advertising produced with Brand Fund contributions.
This means that while the primary purpose of the Brand Fund is to promote Crawlspace Medic services to customers, the company can use the fund to advertise franchise opportunities. This could be beneficial for Crawlspace Medic as it allows them to grow their franchise network using pooled franchisee contributions.
For a prospective franchisee, this implies that their contributions to the Brand Fund could be used to attract new franchisees, potentially diluting the market or increasing competition within the Crawlspace Medic system. However, it also suggests that Crawlspace Medic is actively seeking to expand the brand, which could increase overall brand awareness and benefit existing franchisees.
