We may, but have no obligation to, consider granting to you the right to establish additional Crawlspace Medic outlets under other franchise agreements if you are in compliance with the Franchise Agreement and propose to open another Crawlspace Medic outlet in an area and at a location we approve. What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Crawlspace Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crawlspace Medic has no obligation to grant a franchisee the right to establish additional Crawlspace Medic outlets. However, Crawlspace Medic may consider granting these rights if the franchisee is in compliance with the Franchise Agreement and proposes to open another Crawlspace Medic outlet in an area and at a location Crawlspace Medic approves. The Franchise Agreement does not grant any options, rights of first refusal, or similar rights to acquire additional franchises.

This means that while franchisees can express interest in opening additional locations, Crawlspace Medic ultimately decides whether to grant them the opportunity. A franchisee's compliance with the existing agreement and the suitability of the proposed location are key factors in this decision. This is a fairly typical arrangement in franchising, as franchisors want to ensure that existing franchisees are performing well before expanding their operations.

Prospective franchisees should understand that securing additional franchise locations is not guaranteed and depends on their performance and Crawlspace Medic's approval. This lack of a guaranteed right to expand could impact a franchisee's long-term growth strategy. Franchisees should discuss Crawlspace Medic's criteria for awarding additional franchises and their past practices in granting additional territories to existing franchisees to better understand their chances of expansion.
