What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crawlspace Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Protected Territory will include a minimum population of 50,000 dwellings with crawlspaces or partial basements. This requirement ensures that each Crawlspace Medic franchise has access to a substantial potential customer base within their designated area. The territory will be defined using streets, highways, Zip Codes, or other easily identifiable geographic boundaries. Population figures are based on the most recent U.S. Census data available when the Protected Territory is established.
For a prospective Crawlspace Medic franchisee, this means the franchisor aims to provide a territory with sufficient demand for crawlspace services to support the business. The use of census data helps ensure the population figures are relatively current and accurate. The delineation of the territory using recognizable boundaries provides clarity and reduces potential disputes over territory lines.
It's important to note that while Crawlspace Medic grants a protected territory, it is not an exclusive territory. The franchisee may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, alternative distribution channels, or competitive brands. Additionally, the franchisee is required to maintain certain Minimum Performance Requirements for Total Revenue within their protected territory to avoid potential reduction of the territory size or termination of the franchise agreement.
