What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crawlspace Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor provides initial training for the franchisee and up to two employees. This training is included as part of the initial franchise fee, meaning there is no additional charge for training these individuals.
The initial training program is conducted at Crawlspace Medic's headquarters in Columbia, South Carolina, or at another location designated by the franchisor. The franchisee or operating principal(s) will undergo approximately four weeks of training, while field technicians receive two weeks of training at the headquarters. Following this, there is an additional week of on-site training at the franchisee's location within 30 days of opening.
The FDD emphasizes the importance of completing the Pre-Opening Training Program to Crawlspace Medic's satisfaction. Failure to do so can result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement. This highlights the franchisor's commitment to ensuring that franchisees and their staff are adequately prepared to operate the business according to their standards.
In addition to the initial training, Crawlspace Medic may offer mandatory or optional additional training programs, including an annual conference or national business meeting. Franchisees are required to attend mandatory training programs, which can last up to five days each year, and an annual conference or national business meeting for up to three days each year. Failure to attend mandatory training can result in a default under the Franchise Agreement, and the franchisee may be required to obtain the training at a designated location at their sole cost.
