What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Crawlspace Medic Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor's obligations are subject to certain limitations, particularly for multi-unit developers. Specifically, a developer who signs a multiple store development agreement acknowledges that they will not receive initial training for each additional Crawlspace Medic outlet beyond the first one. Crawlspace Medic states that the initial training provided with the first franchise agreement is sufficient for the developer to construct, equip, open, and operate all subsequent Crawlspace Medic outlets within their development area. This waiver of additional training applies to all training obligations outlined in each franchise agreement, except for the initial agreement.

This limitation has significant implications for developers planning to open multiple Crawlspace Medic locations. While the initial training is deemed sufficient, developers will need to rely on their existing knowledge and experience, as well as the resources provided in the Confidential Operations Manual, to manage subsequent locations. This could place a greater burden on the developer to ensure consistent operations and quality control across all their Crawlspace Medic outlets. It also assumes a level of competence and self-sufficiency after the initial training period.

Prospective Crawlspace Medic developers should carefully consider this limitation and evaluate whether the initial training and ongoing support are adequate for their needs. They may want to inquire about additional training opportunities or resources available to multi-unit operators to ensure they can effectively manage and grow their Crawlspace Medic business. It is also important to assess their own capabilities and resources to handle the responsibilities of developing and operating multiple franchise locations with limited direct training from the franchisor.
