Does Crawlspace Medic hold any patents material to the franchise?

According to the 2024 Crawlspace Medic FDD, Crawlspace Medic, LLC ("Licensor") is the owner of the Marks and has granted CSM Franchise Group, LLC the right to use the Marks and license to others the right to use the Marks in the operation of a Crawlspace Medic outlet in accordance with the System. The Franchise Agreement will license to the franchisee the right to operate their Franchised Business under the Crawlspace Medic service mark. Licensor has registered certain marks on the Principal Register of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The franchise agreement states that Crawlspace Medic, LLC ("Licensor") is the record owner of the Marks. Franchisor holds the exclusive right to license the Marks to franchisees of the System for use pursuant to the System. Franchisor and/or Licensor claims copyrights on certain material used in the System, including but not limited to its website, documents, project designs, advertisements, promotional materials and the Manual, whether or not Franchisor has filed for copyrights thereto with the U.S. Copyright Office. The Marks and copyrights, along with Franchisor's trade secrets, service marks, trade dress and proprietary systems are hereafter collectively referred to as the "Intellectual Property".

While the FDD mentions trademarks, service marks, copyrights and trade secrets, it does not explicitly state whether Crawlspace Medic owns any patents material to the franchise. A prospective franchisee should ask the franchisor directly whether any patented technology or processes are essential to operating a Crawlspace Medic franchise.
