Crawlspace_Medic Franchise · 2024 FDDAnswer from 2024 FDD Document
You must offer and sell all services that are part of the System, and all services and products that we incorporate into the System in the future. You may only offer services and products that we have previously approved.
You may not use our Marks for any other business, and you may not conduct any other business from your Franchised Business location without our prior approval. You cannot engage in any other business that competes with your Franchised Business, with our affiliates, or us or with Crawlspace Medic outlets owned by other franchisees, whether such business is inside or outside of the Territory.
We may add to, delete from or modify the products and services that you can and must offer. You must abide by any additions, deletions and modifications, but only if the changes do not materially and unreasonably increase your obligations under the Franchise Agreement. There are no other limits on our rights to make these changes.
You may only sell products and services in the manner we prescribe. See Item 12 for restrictions on sales within and outside the Territory.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Crawlspace Medic Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are restricted from engaging in any business that competes with their Crawlspace Medic franchise. This restriction extends to competition with Crawlspace Medic's affiliates, the franchisor itself, and other Crawlspace Medic outlets, regardless of whether the competing business is located inside or outside of the franchisee's designated territory. This is a fairly standard restriction in franchising, intended to protect the brand and prevent franchisees from diverting resources or expertise to competing ventures.
This restriction means a Crawlspace Medic franchisee must dedicate their full business efforts to the Crawlspace Medic franchise and cannot operate a separate, competing business simultaneously. The FDD states that the franchisee may not use Crawlspace Medic's marks for any other business and cannot conduct any other business from the franchised location without prior approval. This ensures that the franchisee's focus remains solely on growing the Crawlspace Medic business and upholding brand standards.
Crawlspace Medic also retains the right to modify the services and products that franchisees are required to offer, provided these changes do not materially and unreasonably increase the franchisee's obligations. This clause gives Crawlspace Medic flexibility to adapt the business model, but it also carries the risk that franchisees may be required to invest in new equipment or training to comply with these changes. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider this aspect and seek clarification on what constitutes a 'material and unreasonable increase' in obligations.
