Is attendance at additional training programs mandatory for Crawl Space Ninja franchisees?

We may conduct mandatory or optional additional training programs, including an annual conference or national business meeting. If we require it, you must attend mandatory training programs that we offer for up to five (5) days each year, and an annual conference or national business meeting for a minimum two (2) days each year, at a location we designate. Failure to attend mandatory training, including an annual conference or business meeting is a default under the Franchise Agreement. The current fee for the annual conference is five hundred dollars ($500). We reserve the right to modify the fees for tuition and/or attendance for all additional training programs, including the annual business meeting or conference. You must also pay your transportation, lodging, meals and other expenses to attend any mandatory training program. If you fail to attend any mandatory training program, you are required to obtain the training at a location we designate, at your sole cost, which includes tuition

According to Crawl Space Ninja's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at additional training programs can be mandatory. Crawl Space Ninja may conduct both mandatory and optional additional training programs, including an annual conference or national business meeting. If required by Crawl Space Ninja, franchisees must attend mandatory training programs, for up to five days each year, and an annual conference or national business meeting for a minimum of two days each year, at a location designated by Crawl Space Ninja. If a Crawl Space Ninja franchisee fails to attend a mandatory training program, they are required to obtain the training at a location designated by Crawl Space Ninja. The franchisee will bear the full cost, including tuition at the then-current rate, plus all of their travel costs and Crawl Space Ninja's trainer's travel costs. This policy underscores the importance Crawl Space Ninja places on ongoing training and adherence to their standards.
Crawl Space Ninja also offers remedial on-site training and assistance at the franchisee's premises, subject to the availability of their trainers. However, for any on-site remedial training, the franchisee must reimburse all costs for the services of Crawl Space Ninja's trainer, including the trainer's per diem fee and all travel-related expenses, such as transportation, meals, and lodging. This ensures that franchisees have access to additional support when needed, but at their own expense.
