According to Crave Cookies's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to specific standards during the construction or remodeling of their locations. Franchisees are required to construct or remodel their location in accordance with Crave Cookies Franchising's System Standards. Before starting any construction or remodeling, franchisees must obtain approval of their plans from Crave Cookies Franchising. Crave Cookies Franchising has the option, but not the obligation, to inspect the construction or remodeling work at any reasonable time. However, Crave Cookies Franchising's inspection or approval does not represent a guarantee that the business has been constructed according to architectural, engineering, or legal standards.
Crave Cookies may also require franchisees to undertake and complete a remodel of the location to Crave Cookies Franchising's satisfaction, within a specified timeframe. Franchisees may be required to submit plans for approval before starting the remodel. However, these remodels are limited; they cannot be required during the first two or last two years of the franchise term (unless required for renewal or transfer) and cannot occur more than once every five years from the completion date of the previous remodel.
Crave Cookies Franchising will provide franchisees with a sample set of standard building plans and specifications, recommended floor plans, and the applicable System Standards. These standards may include specifications regarding inventory, supplies, materials, and other relevant aspects of the business. Franchisees are also expected to comply with all mandatory obligations outlined in the Manual and other System Standards, and failure to comply may result in fines. Franchisees are responsible for maintaining the location in good repair and performing necessary maintenance, including periodic painting, parking lot resurfacing, roof repairs, and replacement of worn-out items.
