What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave Cookies' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave Cookies does provide suggested guidelines for hiring employees. Specifically, the FDD states that Crave Cookies will provide franchisees with suggested staffing levels and guidelines for hiring employees. These guidelines are referenced in Section 5.2 of the agreement.
However, the FDD also makes it clear that all hiring decisions and conditions of employment are the sole responsibility of the franchisee. This means that while Crave Cookies offers guidance, the franchisee is ultimately in charge of all staffing matters and is responsible for the outcomes of those decisions.
Prospective franchisees should carefully review these suggested guidelines and staffing levels, but also understand their own obligations to comply with all applicable employment laws and regulations. Crave Cookies also requires franchisees to place a sign visible to all employees stating that the employees are employees of the franchisee's business entity, not Crave Cookies Franchising.
